Advocate Harbour Sea Kayaking base for NovaShores Kayak Adventures

Our Bay of Fundy Tours

Kayak the highest tides on Earth! There are parts of the Bay of Fundy that can only be navigated by the most skilled kayakers, but our paddling routes are selected to safely explore the awesome beauty of the Bay of Fundy’s Cape Chignecto area. While the tremendous power of the tide creates turbulent currents around Cape Split or Cape d' Or, we paddle safely along a coastline protected from the tidal rip currents. The meeting point for all tours is in Advocate Harbour. From there you will follow us in your car to our put-in at either Red Rocks or Spicer's Cove. Both places are beautiful beaches at each their end of the Cape Chignecto Provincial Park. Where we go is decided from day to day depending on weather and tide conditions. The time of departure also depends on the tides. When you call or email we will let you know what time we will meet in Advocate Harbour to allow us to get to our put-in at a suitable time.

The coastline along Cape Chignecto Park offers a truly spectacular, wild and unspoiled landscape, the best the East Coast can offer. You will be paddling into a fascinating world of towering cliffs and rock spires. Cape Chignecto park paddles to incredible views of the Bay of FundySome sea caves allow you to paddle in at high tide while at low tide you can explore them on foot. If we arrive at the right time on a high tide you might also catch a refreshing shower under a waterfall! No matter where we paddle it’s a photographer’s dream.

On the escarpment white tailed deer might be standing undisturbed while the Bald Eagle is often more cautious and take off if we get within it’s comfort zone. From crevices in the rocks the little black Guillemots fly out at high speed - a distant relative to the Puffins. Fishing cormorants, Loons and curious seals are often a welcome part of our kayaking experience.

Our day tours include a relaxing stop at a pristine beach where we will treat you to hot drinks and delicious homemade snacks.

Practical stuff:
Please allow around 6 hours in your schedule. From our meeting point in Advocate Harbour it can be a 10 to 45 minutes drive to the put-in spot of the day. You follow the guide in your own vehicle to either Red Rocks or Spicer’s Cove at each their end of Cape Chignecto Park.

It is the tide and the wind that makes us decide which tour is the safest that day. Our departure time also changes with the tides.

Day tours have a maximum of 8 guests and a minimum of 2. We start with basic instruction in paddling and safety. Beginners are welcome.

Reservation and cancellation:
All tours by reservation only. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours ahead. If NovaShores cancels there will be no charge. In case of a no-show without cancellation the full cost of the tour will be charged to your credit card.

The whale watching today at Brier Island was fantastic in spite of the foggy weather. We saw two humpback whales very close several times. Our best experiences on our holiday, however, have been sea-kayaking with you. We both agree on that!
